Currency and Banking
The currency is the Cyprus pound, C£, which is divided into 100 cents. The exchange rate as of January 2004 is 1 C=2 U.S. dollars.
In 1st of January 2008 Cyprus will join the Euro currency.
All major credit cards are accepted at most places.
Banking hours for the public: Monday-Friday 08:15-12:30. Centrally located banks provide "afternoon tourist services" from Tuesday to Friday. Banks at the Larnaka and Pafos International Airports provide services throughout the day, as well as a night service for most flights.
